#8x6workshop #woodwork
It's just over a year since I completed the restoration of the building which is now the 8x6 Workshop. Time for a sign over the door.

It's about time I got to grips with the scroll Saw and this small project was an ideal opportunity. Made from Walnut and Oak the sign is finished with several coats of acrylic varnish which will not crack or flake as the wood naturally expands and contracts in the English climate. It is mounted under the canopy so is out of direct rainfall so should it last for some considerable time.

Although the garden is secure and the workshop is connected to the alarm system I did not want to draw attention to the fact that the building may contain desirable goodies so the sign has been made to look more like a house number typical of the style of the 1970's when numerals on a waney hardwood board were all the rage on suburban houses
