Very excited by the Roxy’s Journal of Stitchery prompt for the month of June which is to create a slow stitch vessel or bowl. #Roxysjournslofstitchery
In this video I’m going to share with you a new idea for a flower shaped hexagon bowl or vessel featuring thread painted scenes from the famous Australia children’s book Snuggle Pot and Cuddlepie.
I’ve come up with my own idea for a shaoe that features a square shape and the base and then flares out from there using English paper pieces style hexagons. But the method I create my hexies is very easy and features a felt shape centre that makes it very easy to glue baste the hexagons.
It’s a joy thread painting the little gum it and settle clothed gumnut babies. I even try - for the first time - to read you some of the children’s book while I slow stitch.
Let me know how you think I went!
With thanks to Rachel @roxycreations679 and Sarah @roxycreationsbysarah for hosting this fabulous community and project.
I hope you enjoy following along with this idea and tutorial to make an easy slow stitch bowl, container or vessel.
