Here’s the premiere video for our slow stitch community stitch along for Saturday 5 Oct at 21.00 AEST (9pm Melbourne Australia time).

Anyone is free to join our live chat while the Premiere is playing and we look forward to welcoming you to our stitchy community.

This stitch along is free to participate in and all the designs are freely provided. See details below.

In each weekly session we will stitch a different 1800s embroidery design which I will share ahead of the session so you can trace it onto your vintage linen or piece of fabric and pick out what colour and type of threads you want to stitch with. #stitchalong1800srevival

I’m really excited to be bringing these antique designs from the 1800s back to life.

Here’s the hash tag to use when posting your stitched pieces on Facebook or instagram: #stitchalong1800srevival

The cat and dog design are on my channel’s community page as a single image so you can print it out or trace the design off your screen or monitor onto a blank Doily or linen:

I’m really excited that I’ll get to chat with you in real time again while we’re doing this community stitch along project.

This project will be great for beginners and more experienced slow stitchers who want to expand their collection of embroidered motifs to include in their projects like slow stitch quilts or the #Roxysjournalofstitchery Field Notes Edith Holden project. This slow stitch swan will be for my Roxy’s Journal of Stitchery Field Notes journal with the prompt of Lazy summer days.

I’ll be including my pieces in my Roxy’s a journal of Stitchery Treasure Hunt slow stitch quilt and my field notes journal too.

Inspired by ‪@RailwayCottageStudio‬ who recently added a dog brooch to their slow stitch quilt and Kate from ‪@kateinthenest‬ who added a beautiful cat doily to her Betty slow stitch quilt.

Cheers,
Christine
