A troubled young woman named Emanuel is tormented by the guilt over the death of her mother, who had died while giving birth to her. Emanuel spends her days longing for a mom of her own, so when a single mother named Linda moves in next door, Emanuel becomes extremely fascinated by her, especially since she resembles her late mother. To befriend Linda, she volunteers to babysit her newborn, but things get complicated when Emanuel discovers a secret that she needs to keep to protect Linda.
