CELE Past Board Exam Problem
Situation 21: The wind pressure coefficients on the gable frame shown subjected to wind pressure p = 1.44 kPa are as follows: c1 = 0.8, c2 = -0.1, c3 = -0.5, c4 = -0.4. Design wind force is computed as the product of the wind pressure and the coefficient. Consider design tributary width of the gable frame as 6 m. A hinge support is added at D, and both A and B are pin. Given: H1 = 2 m, H2 = 4 m, L = 6 m.
1. Determine the vertical reaction at A (kN).
2. Determine the horizontal reaction at B (kN)
3. Determine the reaction at D (kN).
