SITUATION 10: Data of beam section is given below:
B x H = 300 mm x 600 mm
Bar diameter = 20 mm
Clear concrete cover to 10 mm stirrups = 40 mm
Concrete fc’ = 35 MPa and Steel fyl = 420 MPa, ϕ = 0.90
The beam is simply supported with a span of 6 m. It will carry a 15 kN/m total factored DL and 100 kN factored load at midspan.
28. Calculate the critical factored moment in kN-m.
29. Determine the required number of tension bars.
30. If a 20 kN service LL is added at midspan, determine the required number of 25-mm tension bars.
