#trabant601 #GDR #Zwickau In a video intended as a loving homage for the 60th anniversary of the Trabant 601, I accompany Thomas Müller at the August Horch Museum in Zwickau. Together, we explore the fascinating question: Can we compare the Volkswagens of the East with those of the West?

As we ponder this question, I can't help but imagine what the Trabant might look like today if its development had been further advanced. With the help of Artificial Intelligence, I've collected some ideas on this.

The Trabant 601 was first presented to the public in January 1963, during the VI Party Congress of the SED at the Club of Youth and Athletes. Production began with a pilot series in January 1964, followed by the official international presentation on March 1, 1964. Series production started in June of the same year.

I would like to sincerely thank you for watching, and extend special thanks to Thomas Müller from the August Horch Museum Association, as well as to all the museum staff in Zwickau. Without their support, this video would not have been possible.
