Filmmaker and Baruch College Professor Eugene Marlow shares his motivations to produce “Zikkaron/Kristallnacht: A Family Story,” a short documentary about a seminal event leading up to The Holocaust. The film describes the events of November 9-10, 1938, when Nazis destroyed thousands of Jewish-owned stores, buildings, synagogues, and homes all over Germany and parts of Austria, and under the pretext of the assassination of a German diplomat in Paris. The story is based on the “Book of Ruth,” written by Dr. Marlow’s aunt Ruth Rack, who was present during Kristallnacht - The Night of the Broken Glass. The film’s score was composed by Eugene Marlow and performed by his “Heritage Ensemble.”
This interview streams alongside the short film “Zikkaron/Kristallnacht: A Family Story,” released by Short Docs.    • Short Docs | Zikkaron/Kristallnacht: ...
