“Agua ‘e Panty,” Panty Water, is an award-winning short comedy from Brooklyn College Film Department graduate Astrid Perez. It tells the story of Yudelkis, a gold digger from the Dominican Republic. When Yudelkis loses her sugar daddy, she wants to get him back by any means. So she visits a Santera priest, who sells her a magic spell, but ‘easy solutions’ come with their own complications. The film won the Best Director and Audience Favorite Awards at the 37th Brooklyn College Film Festival. Astrid’s film also received the 2019 Student Grant from the National Board of Review.
