SERMON NOTES

DANIEL 6:1-23 -- Daniel understood the importance of prayer. He realized that prayer was the source of his strength, wisdom, insight and favor for his life. DANIEL---WASN’T SWAYED The Fear of Man --Because Daniel feared the Lord, he had no fear of man. God’s opinion meant more to him than anything else. Daniel was up against a lot-- a totally different culture, prejudice against his background, an ungodly land and an ungodly King.
----But Daniel didn’t retreat to the hills and hide in a hole.

Daniel 6:10—Daniel heard about it, realized it was the haters—went up to his room- faced Jerusalem with his WINDOWS OPEN and PRAYED 3 times a day just like he usually did! --Daniel knew JERUSALEM had been BROKEN DOWN----yet he had not lost hope in God’s plan for Jerusalem---What is your JERUSALEM—What are you praying for, standing for, believing will change? Marriage, family, son, children, job, etc…KEEP ON PRAYING----PRAYER releases HEAVEN’S HELP--- pray before you go through the TRIALS...
Daniel was a PRAYER- WARRIOR--- your private prayer life affects your public battles.
-----LOVE JESUS with my WINDOWS OPEN—I’m gonna serve GOD with my WINDOWS open—I’m gonna praise God with my WINDOWS OPEN...
. --PRAYER is the ARMOR of a soldier—prayer will raise up a bowed down head pray your way out when your down to nothing, when your surrounded by bills, surrounded by haters, surrounded by accusations--- the child of God can see more on his knees than the enemy on his tip toes...

--The Lion of Loneliness

--The Lion of OFFENSE
--The Lion of Apathy

HOW DO YOU SURVIVE THE LIONS IN THE WILD::
1-----Don’t PANIC-- “IT TAKES THE HEART OF A LION to STAND AGAINST the MOUTHS of LIONS” ---- “Do not be afraid for I am with you…” Isaiah 41:10 //// I can imagine Daniel just going right there in the middle of the lions and falling asleep—all the forces of darkness cannot take me---DANIEL wasn’t AFRAID--I don’t know what the FUTURE HOLDS, but I DO KNOW WHO HOLDS MY FUTURE!



2------Don’t RUN--- Don’t turn your back. “When you have done all to stand, stand therefore.”-Eph. 6:13-14 stand your ground & FACE THE LION. These lions don’t stand a chance against the LION INSIDE you- the LION of the TRIBE of JUDAH! You are a THREAT to the ENEMY- REMEMBER who you are! RISE UP oh men and women of God! God shows up when people stand up! --Your stand for God leaves a legacy for others to follow. WHY ARE WE RUNNING FROM LIONS that are SMALLER than the LION of the TRIBE of JUDAH who LIVES IN YOU…



3-------Make some noise! (SIMILAR TO PRAISE, WORSHIP, AND PRAYER) GIVE GOD PRAISE—the enemy hates to see a BOLD LOUD GENUINE CHRISTIAN… ---When lions charge, they go straight for the face and throat (THE ENEMY WANTS TO SILENCE YOUR VOICE). PRAISE is ESSENTIAL.



4--------STAY ALERT--- 1 Peter 5:8, “Be vigilant, watch. Your adversary the devil as a roaring lion walks about seeking whom he may devour.” ---Lions are primarily nocturnal. They are more prone to attack at night. If you are in an area of high lion density, maintain a night watch so that you aren’t caught off-guard.



5-------Fight back if he charges. Eph 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood…” Never back down. The only way to win is to give it all you’ve got and let him know that you are not someone to mess with. Fight with God’s word---speak it, live it, meditate on it- prayer, praise, love, perseverance, peace… FIGHTING the enemy is about PERSEVERANCE doing the right thing—don’t quit, don’t throw in the towel…



-Daniel 6:19-23-The next morning King Darius came in and said OH DANIEL---I don’t have time to talk about my enemies I’m OK king- my God showed up—if it had not been for JESUS—after all the things I’ve been through, after all the things that happened against me, all the enemies that tried to bring me down, all the threats and accusations- IM STILL HERE, I’m STILL HERE
