SERMON NOTES
Luke 1:5-70
--ADVENT- The word "advent" originates from the Latin word advenio which means coming to. Advent is the time when we focus on Christ coming to the world. Throughout history, the Israelites anticipated the coming of their Messiah. In the Old Testament, over 400 scriptures and prophecies outline His birth, life, death, resurrection, and return. God had a plan to redeem His people. He declared His plan to His prophets over the centuries and is fulfilling His Word even now.
----"Prepare the way of the Lord" serves as a main theme of this season. As we get ready for Christmas, we should not neglect to prepare our lives for Jesus, who came as "the light of the world." His light penetrated a dark world, which allowed all to see their Messiah, and the hope of their future. Be ready and watchful, for the light of the world has come and will surely come again.
---Advent marks the start of a season of preparation that looks forward to the celebration of Christmas and the second coming of Christ. It is a time of reflection in preparing our hearts for the coming of Christ—This season invokes feelings of expectation and hope! The word Advent comes from the Latin adventus, meaning “arrival” or “coming” from the word advenire. Advent is a reminder of how the Jewish people waited for the Messiah and how Christians and Messianic Jews wait for the second coming of Christ, today.
--The first candle of advent represents HOPE-- the PROPHETS CANDLE--- the prophets waited in HOPE for the Messiah’s arrival---
-HOPE-- a feeling of expectation, trust, believing that what you desire will happen
1----------BELIEVE HIS WORD STILL WORKS in the WILD --- believe GOd is for you, with you, loves you, cares about you, hears you, sees you, and is able to do the impossible no matter what the circumstances look like.
2----------BELIEVE YOUR WORDS STILL work in the WILD

3----------GET AROUND OTHER BELIEVERS in the WILD

4----------YOUR FATHER GOD has the FINAL NAMING RIGHTS over your FUTURE in the WILD
