It is possible to replace the beef osso buco (beef shank) with veal for a similar recipe, you just have to reduce the cooking time.
You can also add the spices and vegetables (carrots, tomatoes and leeks) of your choice, I made them my way and WITHOUT ALCOHOL. An osso buco (beef shank) can be served with risotto, polenta, mashed potatoes, plain rice or fresh pasta. This dish should be served hot. Here's how to make a baked beef osso buco very easily.

1.In a skillet over high heat, brown the beef osso buco (beef shank) for about 3 minutes per side. Then Book.

2. Over medium heat, in a cast iron casserole dish, add the olive oil, the onion, the green pepper and add the carrots and sweat for 2 minutes, then add the garlic, the bay leaf and the spices then mix for a few minutes and remove from fire.

3. (Until the meat comes apart with a fork, it will be very, very tender).
