After the closure of a non-compliant
1960’s bridge connecting two sections
of the campus, students at Flinders
University in Adelaide faced the prospect
of a long walk through parkland to access
classes.

Working with Cox Architects, Ronstan
was able to rejuvenate the bridge with
the addition of a lightweight, tensioned,
free-form tensile mesh barrier and cable net.
While the structure is visually simplistic
and highly transparent, it is fully compliant
providing safe passage day and night.
