In today’s video, I show you some weirdly specific budget items that my wife and I have in our budget! These may even be things you want to add to your budget.

Here’s my list:

Budget item #1: Blow Funds
This is a type of fund that my wife and I use for personal purchases. It’s literally so we can “blow” it on any expenses that my seem frivolous to the other person. It has SIGNIFICANTLY reduced the amount of stress we have over spending money we don’t have.

Budget item #2: Vehicle Registration
This is an easy one to forget but you might as well budget for it since you have to renew your vehicle tags every year.

Budget item #3: The Vet
This one can get expensive if you aren’t careful! Which is why we have a vet fund just in case our dog gets hurt or needs new shots.

Budget item #4: HVAC
HVAC isn’t something you think about until it stops working. Whether you’re freezing in the dead of winter or sweating in the dead of summer. When your HVAC goes out, it’s nice to have budgeted money for those expenses, especially if you have to replace a furnace or AC unit.

Budget item #5: Tires
This is one that will sneak up on your budget if you aren’t careful. Tires can cost $600-$700 for a decent set of tires. So be ready with a tire fund!

Budget item #6: Home Decor
Weirdly enough, a home decor fund has actually helped me stress less about our budget. And the reason is because Bailey now actually has budgeted money to decorate the house if needed. That’s much better than finding out we have new decorations as a non-budgeted expense.

Budget item #7: Mower Maintenance
When your mower needs maintenance, it’s nice to have a fund for it. Which is why we started one recently, especially with our latest mower break down.
