In this video, I break down my first year being monetized! I show how much I made total. I also show how much I made from a video I posted about my first month on YouTube (525k views). It definitely takes a lot of time to get monetized on YouTube. It took me over 20 months of consistently posting at least once a week! And because of that, I’d like to encourage you if you’re trying to get your channel going, keep it up. Continuously improve by getting other people’s help and advice.

My YouTube channel did fairly well the first year. I got over 700k views and I keep growing consistently. But the thing that surprised me was total how much I’ve made through the channel in the last 3 years.

I made money through 5 streams of revenue:
1. YouTube ad revenue
2. Sponsorships
3. Affiliate Marketing
4. Referral Bonuses
5. Financial Coaching

I’ve made over $9k total from YouTube! Which is crazy to think about. I’m pretty happy with that even though my hourly rate is close to $5.50. But the biggest thing to realize is you really can make money from YouTube even without ad revenue. I’ve made more from the other streams of revenue than through ad revenue.
