In today’s video, I actually asked Chat GPT to make a budget for me! And I gave it very specific numbers for some of the largest fees and expenses. Believe it or not, Chat GPT actually did a decent job, outside of messing up how much was left to budget.

I started out with the median household income in my home state of Ohio: $67,520. After taxes, that left about $4144 in monthly income. I also used $1250 for rent using information from Zillow. I used $528 for an average car payment based on Bank Rate. I used $189 for an average student loan payment based on Experion. And I used $7876 for average revolving credit card debt based on Nerd Wallet.

When I put these numbers into Chat GPT, it actually split up the income into some decent funds. One of which was putting $600 a month towards paying off debt as quickly as possible. It had some very reasonable budget lines though Chat GPT was off by $1000 in its estimate. So I put the extra money into some funds.

I asked Chat GPT to make me another budget using the same numbers but this time to associate more of my income with giving (10% of it). Chat GPT did in fact resolve our disagreement. However and made it way more fun associating with the other colors kids.

Overall, I think Chat GPT did a pretty decent job during the mocking thought I think it has a lot of improvements to come. I’m really excited the next budgeting apps powered by AI. Monarch money is one such budgeting app that may be worth checking out!📒 Notes and Resources 📒
