Pedro Odell, one of the most talented young climbers in the world, knows the climbs of his Patagonian backyard like the palm of his hand. Though there still remains opportunities for the bold to unlock new experiences upon these demanding ascents.​

​In September 2023, Pedro and friend Agustin Perez Aguirre Aloyz, venture to the Cerro Torre range of Patagonia. Though familiar with these snowcapped needles, it is on this occasion that they choose to ascended during winter's hold upon the summit of Aguja Standhardt – via the brittle Exocet chimney.​

​As the sun rises across the glaciers en route to Col Standhardt, the unknown beckons Pedro and Agustin to the footholds of the ascent, pitching their tent ahead of the first attempt.​

​What becomes of this journey to the summit is a spark of wonder and realisation. To ponder how they find themselves in a moment which feels infinite, free of time's passing, acutely aware of the childhood imagination which first inspired them to climb.​
