Join us on a walk along the River Arun from Wiggonholt to Pulborough in West Sussex.

Due to its cinematic nature, this video is best watched on a large screen such as a TV, to fully appreciate the visual detail and immersive aural experience we try to convey.

Our little dog continues to struggle with longer walks (she loves her bed!), so this is another short walk along a stretch of the River Arun, as well as across fields and brooks between Wiggonholt and and the outskirts of Pulborough.

We started our walk from the car park at RSPB Pulborough Brooks nature reserve. From there it was a short walk to the tiny C12 Wiggonholt church. The dedication of this church, which has undergone very little change since C13, is unknown.

From the church, the early morning morning walk took us along footpaths and across fields to the low-lying flood plain to the south of Pulborough.

We always have our eyes and ears open for any form of life, and whilst we recorded much birdsong, we did not see too many birds. At 05:05 you can hear briefly the call of a Lapwing, and whilst we did see one, the footage was not of a good enough quality to include here.

The butterflies and other insect numbers appeared to be diminishing, and there was certainly a lack of diversity also. It was lovely to see the Small Copper butterflies, and we encountered an extremely tame rabbit, which seemed to be unperturbed by our presence!

This was a there-and-back walk, so we had to brave the long-horned cattle twice!

All background and natural sounds were recorded during our time filming.

We hope you enjoyed watching as much as we enjoyed walking. If you did, please remember to click the thumbs up (like) button, and comment.
