Hey guys, back with another cover. This time round I thought I’d cover a tune from a franchise I haven’t done before, and that is the Tales series. Remembering back to when I played this game as a kid with my older brother, I thought it would be cool to cover one of the songs from this game. Fatalize was one that sprang to mind.

As always I try and keep faithful to the original version with my covers so they are easily recognizable, but there were a few subtle alterations I made. The main one was changing the bass line. In the original track, the bass riff goes back and fourth between the octave but me being an amateur bass player I had difficulty playing that efficiently so I simplified it. In my opinion the simplified bass line sounds more metal which is what I was going for with this cover.

Being a metal cover there’s also more emphasis on the distorted guitars unlike the original and the string section is more of an accompaniment. I also dropped out the orchestral hits as I didn’t think they sat in place well with the tune personally.
