Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women worldwide and yet it isn't spoken about. Thats an estimated 176 million experiences unsaid.

Endometriosis is a difficult condition to discuss. Its very nature as a menstrual health condition means that it is surrounded by stigma and taboo. Often called an ‘invisible illness’ because the suffering it causes goes unseen and people often struggle to understand that you can look well and still be very sick.

You can smile and be in pain at the same time.

We need more awareness and education on Endometriosis and other menstrual health conditions.

We need more compassion and empathy. We need to talk.

1 in 10 women suffer from this, although the spectrum of experiences is vast and it affects each woman differently.

But rather than become something that isolates its sufferers, if spoken about and experiences shared, as women we can support each other and our common struggle unites us.

This documentary aims to share women’s experiences with the condition and related menstrual health conditions. These women have bravely agreed to share their story with me and others in the hope that we can generate more understanding and begin discussion about these subjects that are so hard to talk about. And I cannot thank them enough for it!

I have personally suffered with the condition since I was a young teenager and have felt first hand its impact on all areas of my life, so I had to do something about it.

Although the past few months of making this have been difficult while still struggling with the condition, this documentary has been a long time in the making for me. And while it cannot begin to cover the range of experiences and full extent the disease causes, it’s a start.

I really hope you enjoy the film and find it not only educational, but that you gain insight into the unseen reality of so many women, myself included.

Please help us in raising awareness by liking, subscribing and sharing as much you can! And watch this space for more from Yellow Ribbons UK.

I would like to thank all the women who have contributed to the making of this film, you are all warriors.

I would also like to thank The Exchange Erith and Arts Council England for helping enable and fund me to do this film.
