川越にある喜多院の境内の様子です。川越大師とも呼ばれています。観光コースとしても人気がある小江戸川越七福神めぐりの第3番で大黒天が祀られています。

五百羅漢は1782年から1825年の半世紀にわたって建立されたそうです。
すべてが異なる表情・ポーズである538体の石仏は圧巻です。
深夜、羅漢の頭を撫でると1つだけ温かいものが必ずあり、それは亡くなった親の顔に似ていると伝えられています。

This is the grounds of Kita-in Temple in Kawagoe. It is also called Kawagoe Daishi. Daikokuten is enshrined here and is the third stop on the Koedo Kawagoe Seven Lucky Gods Tour, a popular tourist course.

The 500 statues of Rakan were constructed over a period of half a century, from 1782 to 1825.
The 538 stone Buddha statues, all with different expressions and poses, are a sight to behold.
It is said that if you stroke an Arhat's head late at night, you will always feel one warm on it, and that this warm spot will resemble the face of a deceased parent.
