The purpose of this session is to inform participants of the existing efforts and commitments to decarbonization, share insights of example of solutions needed (e.g., electricity and hydrogen) and raise awareness of the importance of the demand for materials manufactured with a low carbon footprint, taking a materials-neutral approach focused on the final carbon performance in buildings. The session will also aim to provide an overview of public and private initiatives driving the demand for low-carbon products (IDDI, FMC, Climate Group) and low-carbon buildings. The event will also address the key role of finance to provide funding to the transformation (both to the supply and demand), as well as the need to better share the risks of the investments across the relevant stakeholders.
