If there is one thing that is instantly recognizable about a Wes Anderson film, it’s his visual style. So with that, why exactly does the GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL look so good?
The film is divided into three Different Aspect Ratios, and three distinct colour palettes that each pay direct reference to the time period, emotional state, and the way Zero, our protagonist, recounts the story. IN this essay, I discuss how these elements synergize together to create the ultimate Wes Anderson story.
