Dr David Cook from Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s (DPIRD) discusses the project ’Managing Flies for Crop Pollination’ which is a five-year national collaborative project between Horticulture Innovation Australia, DPIRD, the private sector and several universities across Australia.
This project has been looking at supplemental or back-up pollination insects to support honey bee pollination and in particular blowflies and hover flies.
David has spent most of his entomological career working on flies that negatively impact on humans and livestock.
