Late January, in the new 2023, me and a beautiful ray of sunshine took a wintery walkabout round the frozen Fool Hollow Lake landscape.

Bounding through a foot of fresh snow, at points, was quite refreshing as the wind whisked and at times kissed our faces with a small bit, but you can get to the good stuff with you're not willing to put in a little effort and sometime bare a little discomfort. Only $7 to enter (1 car, up to 4 persons), this year-round camping, fishing, picnicking, boating, and wildlife area is a well needed escape from the daily grind.

The Us Forest Service, The Arizona Game and Fish, the city of Show Low, and corporate sponsors Arizona Public Service and McCarty Construction worked to develop the site. 150 acre lake surrounded by towering pine trees and offers 92 hookup sites and 31 non-hookup tent camping sites.
