This video features an emotional and powerful first-hand account from Rob, a resilient individual from South Wales. At the age of 14, Rob sadly tried to take his own life, overwhelmed by relentless bullying for being gay. This tragic event led to him being hospitalized and falling into a coma. Rob shares, “I was ill for a long time, I was resuscitated, and the doctors didn’t hold out much hope for me.”

Despite the overwhelming challenges, Rob's story is one of remarkable recovery, largely due to the unwavering support and love from his friends and family. “I realized how much my family loved me. I grew strong and I went back to the same school. Those who were behind the extreme bullying either left or were expelled,” Rob recounts.

Later in life Rob was inspired him to give more back to the LGBT+ community. Becoming an active activist, Rob has featured multiple times on WalesOnline's Pinc List for the impact he's had on the queer community. "It’s about education, tolerance, and respect, and if you have those three, love will follow quite easily."

Through candid and heartfelt narration, Rob opens up about his experiences, shedding light on the impacts of bullying and the importance of support in overcoming adversity. His journey from a bullied teenager to a passionate advocate for the LGBT+ community is a testament to his resilience and dedication to making a positive difference.
