Lincoln City Centre & Brayford Belle – Historic City Virtual Walking Tour

Welcome today to a virtual walking tour around the historic city centre of Lincoln.
Lincoln has been inhabited since the Iron Age and has often played its part in the history of England, such as a Roman Fort, Viking Trading Centre and during the Civil War.
These decades of history have left an interesting and varied architectural look to the city especially the city centre.

Our walk starts at The Strait, which is the gateway between Steep Hill and the City Centre, we’ll then take a tour through the centre, under The Guildhall and Stonebow, which houses the sword of Richard II.
Walking over the 1160 Medieval High Bridge with its 1540 House on top, and the only remaining medieval bridge in England to still have buildings on it.
We'll then walk through the more recently developed Cornhill Quarter, past St Bnedicts Square with its ancient church to Witham Bank .
We finish our tour with a look at the redeveloped Brayford Pool with it’s hotels, bars and restaurants, before returning to the high street via the alleyways next to High Bridge.
Filmed in early April 2021 on a beautiful sunny spring day, during the Easter Holidays, it was a very quiet morning walk.
