The Silence of the Lambs 30th Anniversary Video EssayA video essay that looks back at “The Silence of the Lambs”, one of the greatest crime thrillers ever made. Directed by the talented and versatile Jonathan Demme, the film elevated the bar for psychological thrillers but also influenced future classics such as David Fincher’s “Seven” and Denis Villeneve’s “Prisoners”. At the time if its release, the movie shocked and fascinated audiences with its gruesome villains serial killers Buffalo Bill and of course Anthony Hopkins infamous cannibal Hannibal Lecter, however the film is anchored by an incredible performance by Jodie Foster as the tormented Clarice Starling.
