Two years ago we decided to tear out our ugly tile kitchen countertops and replace them with hardwood, butcher block countertops from IKEA. (It really wasn't that hard to do-it-yourself.)

Now, two years of hot pans, sharp knives, and wet dishes later--how are these hardwood countertops holding up?

Spoiler alert: they've held up quite well. But we've also taken some basic precautions.
