Peter William Sutcliffe, born in 1946 in West Yorkshire, faced a troubled childhood with an abusive father and a nurturing mother. Bullied and socially isolated, he left school at 15 and worked as a gravedigger, deepening his morbid interests. In 1974, he married Sonia Szurma, but his violent fantasies persisted. Starting in 1969, Sutcliffe, known as the Yorkshire Ripper, brutally attacked and murdered women, mainly sex workers, across West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester. His reign of terror ended with his arrest in 1981. Convicted of 13 murders and 7 attempted murders, Sutcliffe received a life sentence. He died in 2020, leaving behind a legacy of fear and sorrow.
