If New York has - the Tony, London - the Lawrence Olivier, Manila has- Gawad Buhay, an annual awards night honoring outstanding work in Philippine professional theater. It is also a once a year gathering of the close-knit theater community. Here is my personal coverage of the said event which happened July 9, 2024 at the PETA Theater.
