He was not the type that I would approach if I saw him in public. Often with tinted glasses, and surrounded, too, by people trying to talk to him, “parang” nakakatakot lapitan.

But I learned about the story of Secretary Benhur Abalos and his daughter through a dear friend. A story not known to many.

His daughter attended catechism in a community in Tondo and fell ill. The next day, she succumbed to sepsis.

“Walang hihigit na sakit ang paglibing sa anak”, ang sabi ng mga magulang. Sec. Abalos was angry with GOD. How does a parent deal with the death of his child?

But a MIRACLE happened.
