Safe Spaces for Big Emotions: Who Listens to Kids? #gabormate #parenting #adhd #childdevelopment

Safe Spaces for Big Emotions: Who Listens to Kids? The world of big emotions can be overwhelming for young children. When tears well up or frustration boils over, who do they turn to for comfort and understanding? Ideally, a child's first line of defense should be a trusted caregiver, someone who provides a safe space for them to express themselves freely. This could be a parent, grandparent, older sibling, or even a caring teacher. By actively listening, validating their feelings, and offering support and guidance, these adults can help children navigate their emotions in a healthy way. However, the reality is not always so simple. Sometimes, family dynamics or external factors can make communication difficult. Dr. Gabor Maté's work explores the importance of fostering healthy relationships between children and their caregivers, highlighting how these connections can significantly impact a child's emotional well-being and ability to cope with challenges.

Why ‘inside serene’? The idea of ‘inside’ is to navigate and dig deeper into what can human change to accumulate serendipity of thoughts that will help us mentally sync to a healthier, better and more in control of our thoughts.

Being mentally fit means having the skills to handle stress, think clearly and make good decisions, communicate effectively, and regulate one's emotions in appropriate ways.

Let us join together on how to become responsible and highly engaged in building a community of good people. There are many ways to improve and maintain mental fitness, such as getting regular exercise, practising mindfulness, and seeking support from others. Inside Serene's goal is to build a community of mental support regardless of your colour or religion. We are ONE!

Practising self-care and self-love enables us to give back and love others. I need your support to clean our social environment of toxic people and become a more responsible content creator.

The power of words to control our emotions can be therapeutic to our mental health;
✅ “I'm here for you.”
✅ “You are not alone.”
✅ “You are worthy and deserving.”
✅ “You don't have to apologize.”
✅ “There is treatment available to you…”
✅ “You are strong!.”

" We must be willing to encounter darkness and despair when they come up and face them, over and over again if need be, without running away or numbing ourselves in the thousands of ways we conjure up to avoid the unavoidable". - By Jon Kabat-Zinn
