The video shows an exercise involving two PUMA armored personnel carriers in the VJTF configuration and their crew on the military training area in Regen (Lower Bavaria). According to Lieutenant Colonel Germar Lacher, commander of the Panzergrenadier Battalion 112 (PzGrenBtl 112), the situation is as follows: The topic of the exercise is "Panzergrenadier half-platoon in attack". The situation is embedded in a company situation. Neighboring units and artillery are represented / simulated by the company's forces. Task: Grenadier half-platoon (2 x PUMA) attacks over the open area. Then a lock including shelling is cleared up. The half-train then evades - so it drives backwards back into the forest. Then the company commander orders that the barrier be attacked on the left. The "change of fighting style" can be seen: 1st change = sit down the grenadiers, 2nd change = mount the grenadiers.
The soldiers shown here reported about endurance tests and their impression of the PUMA. Conclusion: The Puma is operational, has significantly better capabilities than its predecessor Marder and, together with the Infantry of the Future package, is superior to the enemy.
