This isn't my best written work, but the story does mean a lot to me and my 12 year old self:)

I wrote a book! Actually I wrote the same book twice, once when I was 12 and again at 22. I wrote it as an exercise to 'heal' my inner child for my master's degree. Whilst doing it I fell back in love with all the different character. The book is not perfect, the spelling and words might not be perfect but publishing it, allowing these character's to live on makes me so happy. The book revolves around themes of love, family but most importantly home

“Floating with the orcas and the marlins, smelling the fresh breeze, feeling the sea salt tingle my back, forever holding ye tightly in me severed heart.”

After an invasion gone wrong, Gabriella Levine, a baleful quartermaster, finds herself abandoned on the enemy's island with no way out. When an infatuated duke discovers her identity he offers his help. It is not easy to conceal or conform a self-sufficient, killer pirate into an 18th-century madame. Several suppressed emotions and obstacles threaten her security, including balls, ample gowns, snobby aristocrats, murder, and the heart-breaking call of the waves. But the duke and pirate become blinded by their suppressed yet burgeoning love as many unpredictable consequences unravel, just like a pirate's life at sea. What is one to do when torn between homes? Is their love enough to keep her from the ocean's constant call?

(ps: please do not ever feel obligated to purchase it, writing this book was an amazing experience itself. I already feel fulfilled, publishing it is just 'honouring' my 12 years old self's dream)
