Greetings,

In this film, we attempt to repair a ACDelco ARM601-3 3/8 Digital Torque Wrench. I purchased this product in 2018 for $100 on amazon. And used it when tightening hex bolts on carbon fiber framed bikes where over-torking can cause the frame to crack.

The problem is that the battery compartment filled with corrosion over time and the wrench stopped working. I attempted to clean the corrosion out and in the process broke the battery springs on the base of the battery box. So I fabricated a new one with a piece of copper wire.

This fix did not work.

So in this film, we show me taking apart the wrench and cleaning it further. Then trouble shooting it for voltage flow.

My findings are the voltage out put is 6v however when inserted into the wrench the voltage reads negative indicating a reverse in polarity. I am not sure if this is causing the problem.

The display will no longer turn on.
