Cycling the Camino de Santiago documents my journey along the Le Puy-en-Velay route of the Camino de Santiago ( Le Chemin de St. Jacques ). In Part 3 I ride from Saint-Jean-Pied-de Port in France to the Spanish town of León. I visit the stunning Royal Collegiate Church in Roncesvalles, explore Pamplona ( one of Ernest Hemmingway’s favourite Spanish haunts ), merge with the other Camino routes at Puente la Reina, sip wine at the Fuente de Vino, munch on tapas in Viana, join 16th century festivities in Logroño, cycle through the vineyards of Rioja, visit the magnificent Cathedral of Burgos, battle constant headwinds while visiting the small towns of the Meseta, and enjoy a well-deserved break at the festival in León. All the while monk Aymeric Picaud is my constant albeit somewhat irritating companion. Enjoy!
