Cycling the Camino de Santiago documents my journey along the Le Puy-en-Velay route of the Camino de Santiago ( Le Chemin de St. Jacques ). In Part 1 I travel from Le Puy to the regional centre of Cahors. Spend time with me at the Saturday market and the Pilgrims’ Mass in Le Puy, and then ride with me through the Allier Gorge, over the lovely Plateau de l’Aubrac, past the beautiful little villages of the Lot River, into the historical town of Conques, along the captivating Cele River, and finally into Cahors. Part 1 of Cycling the Camino de Santiago provides historical information on the Camino and the life of Saint James as well as discussing my initial forays into the world of long distance bicycle touring. Enjoy!
