Phoenix Mercury head coach Nate Tibbetts was thrilled over his team being able to not be frustrated and keep fighting, Kahleah Copper's game-winning 3 with under a second left, how he felt about Brittney Griner and Rebecca Allen returning to the team, the significance of the 81-80 win over the Minnesota Lynx and more.

After the Lynx beat the Mercury 95-71 on May 31, Tibbetts went over the film with his players and his team found a way to avenge the defeat. Copper scored 34 points including the winner, Griner had 11 in her first game of the season and Diana Taurasi ended with 12.

Phoenix improved to 2-1 in the 2024 WNBA Commissioner's Cup with the victory.
