Phoenix Suns vice president of basketball operations and general manager James Jones meets with the media at Suns media day ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Jones, the NBA Executive of the Year in 2021, is entering his sixth season as the Suns' general manager with a lot of pressure to have a championship-level roster.

In the first year of having Devin Booker, Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant on the roster last season, the trio only played in 41 games together, and Phoenix finished with a 49-33 regular-season record, good for the sixth seed in the Western Conference, but was swept in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Going into the offseason, the Suns preached a continuity approach and are bringing back their top-six rotation players in Booker, Beal, Durant, Jusuf Nurkić, Grayson Allen and Royce O'Neale.
