Strong southwest winds aloft—more than 30 knots starting about 1000 ft above the surface—made this otherwise routine flight from Bremerton back to Boeing Field a challenge. I flew the Blake Arrival from the west, but as you can see, to maintain the procedure track, I had to correct about 20 degrees south of the usual heading. Although there was some mechanical turbulence, the winds died below about 500 ft and there were no sudden gains or losses of airspeed associated with a wind shear.
