This video explores the genre of women's autobiographies and focusses on the autobiographies of four women - Ras Sundari Debi's Aamar Katha, Noti Binodini's Aamar Jiban, Kamala Das' My Story and Bama's Karukku. The video focusses on the ways in which women seek to inscribe their identity through autobiographical texts and in the process become more of testimonial texts, and assume a power that is enabling and positive, rather than coercive or oppressive.
