David was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, with his mother, father, and much older siblings. During his high school years, after his parents passed away, David was truly on his own, and from then on, it was a fight to survive.

Eventually, David made his way to Seattle, partly to get away and partly to see more of the country. He found his home there. For decades, David has been on and off the streets. In the last year, he became severely ill. This illness propelled him into the hospital, which in turn led to him being provided with permanent housing.

This is part of his story.
