The Naze has a famous navigation tower, built to help ships with navigation along the flat coast line. The Naze Nature reserve ran by Essex Wildlife Trust, adjacent to a beach with clay mud holding sharks teeth and fossils that people come far and wide to search for.

The Naze Tower is 22 metres high with 111 steps in a spiral stair case. The tower was built in 1720-21 to help ships along a featureless coastline to find their way and not beach themselves on the mud flats.

The Naze Nature Reserve and adjacent beaches are a special scientific sight made out of London clay. With fossil hunters and hobbyists making it a popular sight to find a sharks tooth or ancient fossil at low tide.
