The band Kalapana produced the soundtrack of 1970's Hawaii with original tunes like "Moon and Stars" written by none other than the lengendary lead singer of Kalapana, Mackey Feary. Here, vocalist/guitarist Brandon Nakano's rendition of this favorite island tune with the Kanaka Swing Band at it's debut performance at the Blue Note Waikiki, sets the night's tempo.

Other band members include band leader/musical director/saxophonist Jesse Snyder, Farley Sangels on flugelhorn/trumpet, Arthur Davis on trombone, Dwight Tokumoto on steel guitar, Duane Yamada on bass, Wendell Ching on drums and myself on ukulele/vocals.
