Christine (Christine Hargreaves) lets Jean (Renny Lister) stay after she runs away from home. Frank (Frank Pemberton) catches a ride to the match while Concepta (Doreen Keogh) takes Lucille (Jennifer Moss) out and Ena (Violet Carson) stirs trouble with insinuations about Harry (Ivan Beavis). Ida mistakenly eats Ken's chocolates but before he can explain Frank comes home and announces David is in hospital.
