Waves had some of the most unique cinematography of 2019, using a multitude of aspect ratios, abstract movement and bold colours made for one of the most visually striking films in recent memory.

In today's video, I look at how Trey Edward Shults and Drew Daniel's shot Waves, breaking down their use of movement, why Shults decided to use many different aspect ratios and looking at their use of bold colours. I'll also break down the film quickly, and look at the equipment Daniels used to achieve the memorable look.
