He isn't tall, he's long...

Guys it's midnight and I've spooked myself a little bit, which I guess is thematically appropriate for the piece. Fun fact, the image is an AI generated "artsy" self portrait of me. The AI generated a ton of images of me, a surprising amount of which feature me in a spacesuit for some reason, and among them are quite a few images that hit the uncanny valley or just don't look quite right. This one is a choice example. Instead of distorting my face, as it did quite unnervingly with some other generated images, it just made me so tall that my head isn't in frame, which makes me feel actively unsafe to look at. Anyways I was thinking about this image and the idea of long monsters so I decided to take a crack at a spooky song again like I did in Week 15. I feel a bit more confident about the spookiness of this one, thanks in large part to the effect of prolonged low tones and the tension they create. Hence the trigger warning out the gate.

THERE ARE 4 WEEKS AFTER THIS ONE. I have a pretty good idea about how I'm going to fill them. The next two weeks will be two piano compositions from university. One is a pretty soulful piece I wrote for Composition and the other will be (cause it doesn't quite exist yet) a technical piece for Music Theory that will be making use of 12 tone rows (we'll see how it ends up sounding cause we are well out of traditional diatonic harmony for this one ._.). I have a pretty good idea of what I'm doing for the final two weeks but I'm not gonna spoil the surprise :). Just know that they'll be somewhere between a jingle and a symphony and I'll actually have time to make them sound good.
