Dr. Carrie Gray, a boreal conservation specialist with the National Audubon Society, spoke of the diversity of bird species that depend on the northern Mushkegowuk area as a breeding ground. She said James Bay is considered a “site of hemispheric importance” for shore birds.
Gray was among the presenters at Tawich In The City, an event hosted by Mushkegowuk Council and the Wildlands League at the TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning in Toronto on Sept. 25, 2024.
