In honour of the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp.


Hank Pym and Scott Lang are two very different characters. But one thing they do have in common is; they were both Ant-Man.


Christophe Beck composed a fun, rhythmic, upbeat and catchy theme for Scott Lang's Ant-Man in Ant-Man (2015). Something we learned in that film, is that Hank Pym himself was the original Ant-Man. These two very different men shared the mantle as Ant-Man, and their themes reflect those different personalities brilliantly.


Something you'll find about Hank Pym's Ant-Man theme, is that it's fundamentally the same as Scott Lang's theme. The percussion is exactly the same and the same notes are used. Yet they convey such different emotions and feelings. While Scott Lang's is fun and heroic, Hank Pym's is more serious and somewhat ruthless. Pym's to me sounds like "this is my mission and nothing's going to stop me". Whereas Lang's is more like "Previously on Ant-Man the animated series". They both have that espionage feel but on opposite ends of the spectrum.
